Cheapest Web Hosting in India (2026): Real Five Year Cost

Quick answer: The cheapest web hosting in India over five years is GoDaddy Starter, at about ₹204 a month once 18% GST and the renewal price are included. Hostinger Premium costs about ₹247 a month, only ₹43 more, with 20GB of storage and weekly backups, which makes it the cheapest plan we would actually pick.

A hosting plan advertised at ₹89 a month is not an ₹89 a month decision. Add 18% GST. Pay three or four years upfront to get that price. Then pay the renewal rate, which is usually two to four times higher, for every year after.

How we calculated the real cost

To keep the comparison fair, every number below follows the same rules:

1. Start on the listed introductory price, on the term length that price requires.
2. Add 18% GST to everything, because Indian buyers pay it on hosting.
3. When the first term ends, renew the same plan at the listed renewal price until five years are up.
4. Divide by 60 to get an honest monthly figure.

The five year cost table

What the table tells you

The advertised price is not the price. Across five years, the real monthly cost is 1.5 to 2.3 times the headline rate, and the renewal price alone is 1.8 to 3.4 times the intro price.

Longer intro terms protect you. Hostinger’s intro price runs for 48 months against GoDaddy’s 36. That extra year at the low rate is why Hostinger stays close on total cost despite a higher sticker price.

The cheapest plan is also the most limited one. Entry tiers like GoDaddy Starter are the most restricted plans in any lineup. Before you choose it, check how many websites it allows, how much storage it includes, and whether backups are part of it. Hostinger Premium includes 20GB of storage and weekly backups, which is why we would pay the extra ₹43 a month.

Bluehost is not the cheapest host in India. At about ₹306 a month over five years, it costs about a quarter more than Hostinger. It has strengths, covered in our Bluehost review, but price is not one of them.

About the ₹29 and ₹59 hosts

You will find hosts advertising ₹29 or ₹59 a month. We have not included them because we could not verify their renewal pricing, uptime record or support quality from reliable public sources.

That does not make them bad. It makes them unverified. If one tempts you, three rules:

1. Get the renewal price in writing before paying.
2. Keep your own backups, not just the host’s.
3. Confirm you can export your site and move it without their help.

What cheap hosting must still include

However low the price, do not accept a plan without these:

• A published uptime record of 99.9% or better, ideally backed by independent monitoring.
• Free SSL, so browsers show the padlock and not a warning.
• Backups you can restore yourself, weekly at minimum.
• Support you can reach by chat or ticket, at any hour.
• A refund window. Most established hosts offer 30 days. Use it to test speed before the money is gone.

Five legitimate ways to pay less

1. Buy the longest intro term you are confident about. On Hostinger Premium, four years at the intro rate costs ₹7,152 before GST. A single year at renewal costs ₹5,388. That is four years for roughly the price of one and a third.
2. Add your GSTIN at checkout if your business is GST registered, and ask your accountant about claiming the 18% as input tax credit.
3. Remove checkout add ons you did not choose. Paid SEO tools, premium SSL and site scanners are often pre ticked.

When cheap shared hosting is the wrong choice

The cheapest web hosting in India is not the one with the lowest sticker price. Once you add GST and renewals, Hostinger Premium costs about ₹247 a month over five years, only ₹43 more than the most limited option, with twice the storage included. For most small sites, that is the real cheapest choice.
